This concept could work with almost any issue. It even could be widened to, “Do you really want to provide NO check for THIS president? VOTE Democratic!” How about a series of ads nationwide?

Probably like many of you I got damn sick of the 24 hours a day Kavanaugh-a-thon. All we needed was Jerry Lewis or some NPR host pumping all the public vitriol tossed back and forth like some very toxic football. And especially how it was all topped off with a victory dance and Trump’s lie that he had changed his mind about Ford. InspectionTrump says whatever is politically convenient at the time for his base and those on the edges. As one judge said back before his political days, “I’m not sure he even knows when he’s lying.”
But we simply can’t afford to let these things die. In fact it’s the perfect time to strike back. And I’m tired of the old don’t make waves attitude too many have in the Democratic Party. It doesn’t work. Obama made waves. Clinton made waves. Carter made waves. Hillary played it too safe. Kerry played too safe. Dukakis played it too safe. Gore played it too safe.
What I am about to propose would be tough. People would have to stand up and take a chance, possibly be exposed to the extremely vile and violent portion of Trump’s base. But I believe, done right, it could mean a Tsunami blue wave and lead to as big a victory in 2020. Plus, you want justice for those the FBI didn’t talk to, for Ms. Ford, for all of orange guy’s accusers? This may be the only way.
Billboards, radio and TV spots, run in newspaper: everyone stand up and be brave like Christine Margaret Blasey Ford. Pictures would be best, with names, but whatever we can do. Possible text: use it/alter it as needed…

“We were ready to talk to the FBI, to back up the stories of rape and abuse being told about Brett Kavanaugh. The White House insisted only those convenient to the nomination be interviewed. Please do not vote for the party that would enable rapists, enable ripping children away from mothers and putting them in prison, publicly humiliate women who have been abused, mock men who have medical conditions that cause physical problems and most important appoint a justice who proved himself a partisan hack: not worthy of the highest court, who so aggressively pursued a Democratic president but believes a Republican president shouldn’t be held to the same standards. Send a message to the White House by sending a big blue wave of Democrats to Congress. Please stand up. We did, at great personal risk. VOTE.”

I’m sure such a blanket attack will bring on those who will insist it will activate his base. Of course it will. However, if the 2016 popular vote proved anything their base is a lot smaller, even if you don’t consider the much larger number of voters kicked off the rolls, given placebo (provisional) ballots, who were victims of election fraud/caging tactics. You don’t have a big base and lose the popular vote by that much.
Yes, it would activate his base. The same small base that lost the popular vote, that was activated by people not just bending over and taking it from an accused rapist. Trump and his candidates already have that base. Who cares if they’re activated?
But it sure hell would activate our far bigger base.
