 Still Groundhog’s Day?
It was like a cry from an infamous detective, The Hebrew Hammer, if he had the lead role in Passover Pirates, “Yo, Semites!” If Adam Goldberg had said it it might be more fun and funny. Instead the distinctly UN-funny Donald delivered the botched line.
Inspection Wait, I thought it was only “sleepy Joe,” who had these moments?
For those unfamiliar Hammer was a hilarious parody with the plot of stealing Hanukkah, Chanukah Hanukah, Chhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-on-ehkkkkuhhhh… HOWEVER YOU WANT TO SPELL IT, or pronounce it. With extra spittle added to celebrate COVID season. The second wave, featuring more Donnie, surely could be the opposite of funny.
 Don’t they care?
Who am I trying to kid even asking that question?
Like in 2016 we’re back to the Don saying things that should sink his pirate ship. “Back to?” Did we ever leave? Still feels like 2016 to me, so maybe it won’t sink. An un-flush-able turd in society’s stuck toilet. Still the actual year: 2016, feels like some distant, Fred Flintstone-ish, era. But is it really all that different from pre-the 2016 election whistle blew? Let’s slide down Bront-y’s neck and examine our “Yo Semite” moments.
Yeah, I know, no longer called “Brontosaurus.” But that’s the point: we’re still hearing false, misleading, talking points. And comments that make one wonder how sane a president may be. Oh, and the kind of one sided MSM assessments that are never, ever, made for the other side. Instead it’s auto assuming a flub, at best: not intentional.
Example: post 2016 so many got all judg-y about a candidate who didn’t go to the three states. Slap on that crown of thorns! But really, so much Trump time in California? Really? Mistakes and gaffes made by Mr. Grab em’ by the whaaaaaaaaaa???? … were at least as plentiful.
For every mistake his nemesis made I can give you many more the Don made: mistakes that SHOULD have sunk his candidacy. And yet… they didn’t. Why do I feel we’re right back to a similar day where the left may wind up, yet again, beating up on each other post election? Why it’s almost as if he knew the rigging in his favor was a foregone conclusion. Accuse others of doing what you do. His presidency stands on a foundation of election fraud being built by Republicans long before Trump ran. And I mean his first attempt.
We’re stuck in this Groundhog’s Day scenario. We keep waking up in a tomorrow much like yesterday where what should take Trump down doesn’t. It didn’t. It doesn’t. It won’t. Not even bounties on American soldiers. Not even sabotaging the post office all to get reelected. Not even that “perfect” call. “Hey, I’ll give ya what we promised, but I got this ‘favor’ to ask,” saith Godbaby Don.
Maybe that’s why he seems so self assured sometimes. Election fraud be his friend.
Maybe you thought you knew where I was about to go. If so, you were wrong. I have written plenty of columns about how our elections have been deliberately corrupted.
No, I’m fascinated by, “Yo Semites.” Mocking the physically disabled, constant flow of bull talking points.
Remember the MSM focusing only on “deplorables?” Remember how they never mentioned it was only half of Trump followers; she complimented the other half? I’ll bet a lot of folks don’t. They think she just insulted ALL Trump supporters, thanks to the MSM. No, instead MSM acted like a kid about to be forced to eat liver and kept sneaking away from that table of journalistic responsibility. Still happening. Biden gaffes are treated as if they were at least coequal to Trump’s outrageous, nasty, behavior, or worse.
 Doesn’t matter what Trump says.
 Doesn’t matter what Trump does.
Doesn’t matter it’s one insane, brutal, dictatorial statement after another. Comments that would have had the worst of the right doing to Obama what they really wanted to do: lynch him.
This is like Groundhog’s Day, except Bill Murray has no control over the nation’s car. If it were a group of protesting Jews, and it were politically convenient, the groundhog would run over them to the protests of Bill cause he’s “Driving angry.” But he’s actually having fun as, in groundhog gibberish, he cheerfully cries out, “Yo, Semites!”
Seriously: I just got off a debate page where right wingers were defending driving over protesters. I had to sanction a guy for posting a drawing of a smiling driver crushing protesters with the quote, “We don’t care about your protest.”
The out of control beast cries out, “Yo, Semites!” The media laughed and moves on, just like they did for most of what “Grab em’ says. If we could convince them Biden said it, or Bill Clinton, or Bernie Sanders, maybe they’d devote more angst to it? Yeah, you know: avoid taking a tiny bite off of what they treat like the social equivalent of liver at all costs: integrity, morals, ethics, any ounce of subjectivity. Meanwhile the MSM just moves on.
If only the MSM learned like Bill Murray eventually learned. Instead they encourage the maniacal groundhog. It’s entertaining. Since deregulation, entertainment and news have become more integrated than conjoined twins. Which is why they cheer on Groundhog Trump driving the nation off the cliff into a dictatorship. We are Bill Murray. And the orange groundhog’s tude is: Bill Murray, the nation, be damned.
