Happens too often. I carefully edit several possible new editions of Inspection and events demand I write something else.
I have an idea for the people laughingly called “protesters” in DC, and we probably don’t even have to pretend one is carrying a weapon. Find one, order him to put it down, then shoot him rapid fire in the back: 7 times. Find another and Inspection“pacify” him by kneeing him to death. Enter the offices they have occupied and break the door down. Anyone even levels a weapon shoot whomever is with them.
I think you know the rest. The point being, in case you missed it, if the tactics used to murder people because they MIGHT be carrying a weapon they’re pointing at no one, MIGHT be involved in drug dealing, needed to be pacified, are to be fairly applied, such tactics certainly apply to domestic terrorists who actually break into and occupy public buildings in our capital on a crucial day. Some of them armed. Hey, even if they just sit down, to be fair, pepper spray the whole bunch like Occupy.
And in none of these other cases were the dead, the abused, the beaten, the brutalized, occupying DC in an attempt to overthrow an election, trying to threaten Congressmen and women. Not one so endangered our Congressmen and women that those public servants had to go into hiding, lockdown.
Imagine if one of the member of Occupied while the others were being pepper sprayed broke into a police van and “occupied” that, holding a high powered rifle. I’m SURE those who sprayed would have been gentle with that protester, right?
 RRRRIIIIIIGGGHHHHTTTT.
Much was made of how “violent” the rather UNorganized BLM and Antifa protests were, how much ignored when Boogaloos and Prouds infiltrated and did what they could to START the violence. There’s none of that here: these people are PROUD of their threats. No lefty infiltration applied and we have a President who has encouraged, inspired, his own army of Brownshirts, encouraged compromising with them in the past, offered to pay for their defense when they do get violent.
Yes, fair is fair. If a man walking back to his car filled with kids can be framed as having a knife (odd how he stopped to adjust his pants with no evidence of knife in hand), then attempt to enter same car filled with kids, knife now magically far away on the passenger side on the floor, is a threat to police when he’s pointing nothing at anyone while they point guns at him, then these thugs are certainly as dangerous. As is the president and all the politicians who encouraged and inspired them.
 Fair is fair, right?
I will make no suggestions as to what to do with them, except to suggest they don’t deserve to represent any of the public, and deserve all the “lock ____ up” chants they inspired. I will stop at deserve to be being victims of the lynch mob mentality they so seem to love to incite.
The refrain that they didn’t want to militarize this falls flatter than Wile E. Coyote under boulder. There wasn’t any reluctance to militarize when it was supposedly Antifa/BLM far away from DC. In fact the push back and the gas came quickly when Trump simply wanted to take a walk and pose with a Bible. And those folks WERE peaceful.
They complain that the authorities were under prepared. Any idiot knew this was coming. Hell, since November a sign down the road from us in Tennessee promoted the event.
 They were INTENTIONALLY unprepared.
Do I REALLY want any of those payback events I suggested to happen? Of course not. I’m making a point that I think we have missed.
Apparently radical right domestic terrorists and white supremacists are superior people who deserve special rights and ginger treatment. Evidence that rule of law is increasingly even more of a joke.

Inspection is a column that has been written by Ken Carman for over 40 years. Inspection is dedicated to looking at odd angles, under all the rocks, and into the unseen cracks and crevasses, that constitute the issues and philosophical constructs of our day: places few think, or even dare, to venture.
