Arriving At Our End Of The ‘Net
Do not adjust your sets….
Yes, this is exactly where you were trying to come. It’s just that we are changing things up a bit here due to a little shake up of our organization a while back. I know things look radically different here — new name, new domain, and a new look.
But is is still basically the same old place with most of the same people and hopefully some new people.
Why, you ask?
We felt we needed a “fresh start” again. Not like being a “re-virgin”, or anything like that, but to clear the air and toss out the old furniture and rugs and get some new stuff. We needed to move on from our little shake-up a couple of months ago and what better way to do it than with a bright, clean place.
The major changes you will see is
- The name change. LT Saloon was a carry over from the old Liberaltopia days, and was kept as more of a homage to Grouchy than for anything else. The “saloon” aspect? I don’t know how that came about, but since we are making a clean break from the past, this has got to be part of what to let go.
- The new look. Nothing enhances a new name like a fresh new look. At least it is a new look for this site. I’d like to say I designed this theme but I didn’t. It was a theme designed by Nicolò Volpato for Matt’s Photoblog back in 2008. For those who don’t know, Matt Mullenweg is the person responsible for bringing WordPress to life, and one of PC World’s Top 50 People on the Web, and Business Week’s 25 Most Influential People on the Web. It has been such an awesome theme that when I found it available, I had to snatch it up for here.
- The new address. We are no longer located at http://ltsaloon.org. You were probably directed here automatically if you were using a bookmark or a link on someone else’s site, but our new address is http://www.endofthenet.org . You should take this time to update your bookmarks — we’ll wait right here…
Good, you are back. That wasn’t so hard, was it? Sure, you could have kept the old link and it still would have brought you here, but eventually the old one will die. Better to make your change now and put it out of your mind, right?
If you have an author’s account here, your login information hasn’t changed. None of that has changed. If you don’t have an author account and you’d like to join the roles of our content providers, feel free to go up to the top of the page here and look for the “Contributors Wanted” link and apply. We’d be happy to have you.
I still have some minor stuff to do in the background here before I can call this finished. I am sure that someone else will be around shortly to further guide you through all of this.
