The News Pauper: The American Dream is in the Way of the Master Raceit Must Be Destroyed.

By W.B. Dunne

How is that going to be done?

Ask the next generation, right now, if they have any faith at all in their 401kstheyll say, What 401k? Put out story after story about the weakness of the Social Security system and the failures of government in general. Starve the system, with inordinately large tax cuts for the rich and create a culture where the representatives feel free to take bribes from lobbyists to submit bills that industry wrote themselves. In other words, foment chaos and undermine the rule of law.

I would like to thank the GOP for releasing their August outrage accelerant in this:

It really is quite the exquisite propaganda piece. It has jarred the News Pauper from his repose in the dismay from the BP debacleand heres why:

If on September 11, 2001, you realized that you were witnessing a commercial shoot for the 2010 midterms, what would your reaction have been? Language does not exist to describe the below-lowliness of the GOP for creating a false controversy in the form of the Ground Zero mosque, which is not at Ground Zero and is farther away than a mosque that was there from before 9-11and conflating it with the image of the twin towers being hit in this one-minute commercial.

This is exemplary of their desperation. They’re convinced that they have sufficiently stirred up the racist element in the voting block with the border brouhaha and can simply transfer that energy to the Muslims just in time for the election. I know that there is someone out there that would be more eloquent about the ethics of this offensive, truly un-American atrocity, and I look forward to any feedback that may help me comprehend what lies behind it. It is brutally simple. It wont work; the NP predicts that there will be the mother of all backfires.

Americans are decent people; they possess the capacity for empathy when it is cultivated. Our country has had great leadership from people that knew what the common welfare meant. Only in recent times have we fallen from the sensible path, especially with the advent of Fox News and their brand of “journalism.”

Kudos to Obama for putting Tom DeLay back in the limelight; it is nicely placed in the election pre-season. What a great reminder to the public of the institutionalized corruption of the GOP. Tom will, no doubt, appear on Fox to crow about his “exoneration,” when in fact the AG probably figured that prosecuting him was too expensive for the resulting wrist slap from the GOPs Supreme Court. Better to use his notoriety and famous vanity to put the hypocrisy of a once grand old party on display.

The GOP cannot get away with this; nothing will remove the stain that George W Bush was to the GOP brand. Some media company isnt going to revive them by turning their greatest failure into anything other than just thatan Epic Fail.

The Tattlesnake A Stake Deep in the Heart of GOP Texas Edition

Judging by this, Lone Star state Republicans may have much to fear in the future.

I’ve made plenty of fun of Texas and that breed of Texan that keeps electing crooks and nitwits like Tom DeLay and Junior-clone Rick Perry against their own best interests, but it seems things have gotten bad enough down there that even Houston, the nexus of Bush Oil Country, has elected a lesbian Democrat, former City Controller Annise Parker, as Mayor rather than face a corrupt and/or dumb Republican. (Albeit that Houston has been trending Dem for some years and the last mayor was a Democrat.) Although Parker has some past ties to the energy industry, her most recent non-political gig was running a bookstore and she is regarded as fairly liberal, at least by Texas standards.

It’s no secret the GOP has raped the state from one end to the other, giving massive tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations while cutting social safety-net programs to the bone, eviscerating the educational system, and putting workers at the mercy of employers it was the neocon corporatist blueprint for what King Junior tried to do in Washington, but didn’t quite succeed at entirely. Now that the economy has gone all to hell, fed-up Texans are worse off than most of the nation, and they have no one to blame but the laissez-faire policies of the Republican Party.

Sure, the voting machines have been rigged and districts redrawn to keep the GOP in perpetual power, but even that may not be enough to underwrite the Republican Party’s future in Texas.

The Tattler’s prediction: Within ten years all the major state offices will be held by Democrats, as well as the two US Senate seats. Texas was, at one time, a populist state; I think it will be returning to those roots who knows, maybe the great Jim Hightower will end up in office again, if he can stomach campaigning again.

Houston biggest US city to elect openly gay mayor

Monica Rhor, AP Writer
December 13, 2009

HOUSTON Houston became the largest U.S. city to elect an openly gay mayor, with voters handing a solid victory to City Controller Annise Parker after a hotly contested runoff. […]

Parker, 53, has never made a secret or an issue of her sexual orientation. But it became the focus of the race after anti-gay activists and conservative religious groups endorsed Locke and sent out mailers condemning Parker’s “homosexual behavior.”

Read the rest here.

“Anti-gay activists and conservative religious groups” couldn’t defeat an openly gay woman in TEXAS?! Oh, yes, the doom come soon for the GOP.

The News Pauper: The Two Toms

By W.B. Dunne

The News Pauper is thrilled that the two Toms, Ridge and Delay, are making headlines this week. Delay for a slot on Dancing with the Stars”; Ridge for coming out about the 2004 election and raising the terror alert to insure Bushs reelection.

Id like to take on the latter fellow first. Nice try, Tom Ridge, but anyone with a memory can tell you that you were the last thing in the world that affected the 2004 election. Mr. Ridge, every American over twelve could see through the bullshit that was and is homeland security. However, that being said, the thing that DID effect the outcome of the 2004 election was swift-boating, vote caging, election-thieving operators from the White Houseincluding chiefly, Karl Rove. A fella named Ken Blackwell, from Ohio, delivered the vote to the GOP all rightthrough FRAUD.
