So once the stinky gas of Attendancegate is passed, the over inflated hot air windbag of an issue is punctured, where do we go? Maybe take a cue from boxing?

Dare I use the phrase, “Rope-a-dope?”
 I dare!
Inspection
 I dare!
The only question left is should we join in and say, “Bring it on,” Or play the part of the rabbit and plead not to be tossed into the patch. I lean towards the last, but can see how the first might fast track the idiocy.
YES. Let’s investigate voter fraud. Let’s have a full blown congressional investigation: all pitching in. We need this.
First, and most important, we can use it to bring up CrossCheck, have testimony by many people who had their vote taken away because their name was John Q. Citizen. You see there’s a John T. Citizen in another state nearby, or even far away, who is a felon, and the state uses the list to make the claim that T. and Q. are the same voter. “Odd” how those names so often belong to blocks over voters who don’t tend to vote Republican. We could bring in soldiers who lost their vote because a card was sent to an old address while they served us overseas, or those given placebo ballots; better known as provisional ballots, that were never counted.
There’s a lot here that can be piggybacked on this, and maybe being “cooperative” might be a better way to do this if we make sure they don’t narrow it down to stupid claims about massive voter fraud. Let them bring them up, sure, but be ready to blast them out of the water.
Meanwhile we can bring up how districts likely to vote Dem, you know: like black districts? …get a limited number of defective machines that won’t read the ballots right, while the good machines go to Republican districts.
When’s the last time you heard Republicans complain about limited voting machines, long lines, defective machines, comment on them getting provisional ballots and wondering if they are ever counted? Of course, as far as we know, they’re not.
It goes without saying that any investigation has to by public, open and not severely limited to only serve Republicans. Any attempt to do otherwise should mean filibusters and large scale hell raising. If every Dem pol slams all the talking head programs and news programs it would be damn hard for the radical right wing owned and cowed mainstream media to ignore it all.
Look folks, there’s so much more we can drag out in the open here. Time we got smart. There’s a reason why many high profile Republicans are basically saying, “Donnie, please, please, PLEASE, SHUT UP!” And that reason is not they’ve suddenly been smitten by a smidgen of honesty. Just the opposite. They know where the corpse of representative governance lies and they don’t want it dug up.
Let’s turn the investigators into gravediggers.

Inspection is a column that has been written by Ken Carman for over 40 years. Inspection is dedicated to looking at odd angles, under all the rocks, and into the unseen cracks and crevasses, that constitute the issues and philosophical constructs of our day: places few think, or even dare, to venture.
