“Palins hopes for a swift confirmation process were dashed April 10 when Leah Burton, a veteran lobbyist on childrens issues and domestic violence, submitted a letter to the Alaska State Judiciary Committee claiming that Ross publicly defended spousal rape. According to Burton, who detailed the allegations for me, Ross allegedly declared during a speech before a 1991 gathering of the ‘fathers rights’ group Dads Against Discrimination, ‘If a guy cant rape his wife, whos he gonna rape?'”

“Burton said Rosss statement was consistent with his overarching attitude toward womens issues. She claimed that he once said during a debate on the Equal Rights Amendment, ‘If a woman would keep her mouth shut, there wouldnt be an issue with domestic violence.'”

“…as pro-Palin forces attempted to push back against Rosss critics, dozens of op-eds Ross authored during the 1980s and 1990s surfaced as key exhibits in the case against his confirmation. Among them is a 1993 (art project)… in which Ross defended a local college student who had offended an African-American classmate by creating a statue of a Klansman with a cross in one hand and a flag in the other.”

The question must be asked. What we do we here? Ignore her so she doesn’t get the press? Let the world observe her for all she is and isn’t? I have always had a strong desire to visit and perhaps even live in the panhandle area… Sitka, Ketchikan. I am sure there are plenty of nice people in Alaska, but would I really enjoy living amongst those who would elect Sarah Palin?

Wayne Anthony Ross “sports his initials, W.A.R., on his Hummer’s vanity plates”? This guy makes O’Reilly look almost sane.

Is there any further shred of doubt that the governor who thought this creep would be a great appointment as attorney general, and that she could sneak it by the public without notice, is either a right-of-Attila-the-Hun nutcase herself or really, really dumb?

Actually, I repeated myself there, but she’s both, IMO.
