I have been laughing at cheesy, poor, opposite of the fact framings of Democrats on Facebook. It’s always easy to tell what they are like when Trump, the administration and MAGA point the framing finger at others. Easy to know they are trying to distract from their own nature.
The framing they do is always that Democrats are evil, so evil they deserve not to be a party. They are part of the “enemy within.” I’ve seen out right attempts to encourage murderous violence against them.
And you know, eliminating A FEW them peacefully: the ones who constantly compromise their principles, not a bad idea. Talk tough then fold like a spineless slug. The party would be better without them. Politics might better without them. I think some, like Schumer, would serve us all better if they decided to go build widgets, or retire, or… anything but be like Jerry Smith. As Malcom Nance said, “They don’t want to fight.” They may talk tough, then fold like a spineless slug. The party would be better without them. Politics might better without them.
If you are unfamiliar, Jerry Smith is father to Morty, husband to Beth Smith, in the toon for adults Rick and Morty.. He’s known to have little to no spine. Known for when faced with evil to say, “Stop it” when they beat on him after he gives in to them.
I think of Fetterman in some cases, Tulsi Gabbard who CLAIMED to be a Democrat. She was anything but. Constantly siding with Republicans and Trump, sneering at members of her own party. I suspect she was one of many ASKED to run by Republicans to get an otherwise mostly un-get-able seat. Another example, who probably made the same deal, Joe Manchin.
Too many in Republican leadership have been REAL good at plotting and planning to sabotage the Democratic Party. This goes back to the college group the Young Republicans for Freedom, but they were more mainstream. The main groups were Trojans for Representative Government (TRG) and The Dirty Tricks Network headed by Nixon accolade Donald Segretti.
The most dangerous dirty tricks presently are their constant attempts to purge groups of voters who tend not to vote their way.
There’s a long history of this: anti-mail-in efforts, purging computer programs that identify similar name voters in states sometimes far away from each other to be purged, sending too few and defective machines to black areas since they tend not to vote. Meanwhile mostly white Republican voting areas Republican have a decent number of well-working machines, so they don’t have the long lines. One for the newer ones is allowing citizens to list people they think don’t have the right to vote. No investigation, they just are purged and not notified.
But THE newest is changing voting locations to sometimes as much as 40 miles away. not telling the voters. and after all day in line where it’s illegal for anyone to give them water they’re told they have to vote elsewhere.
All I mentioned is the SHORT list. I have plenty more.
There’s also a long list of Republican accusations that really are, “Look over there instead!” …because that’s what they do. For example, somehow Democrats line up millions of undocumented folks to vote and there’s no question that equally corrupt election workers don’t bother checking them in. So many involved in this vast conspiracy theory to make it work. No buses shown with the required numbers to effect a national or even most local elections. No evidence. Just conspiracy theories. All to excuse various ways to purge or severely discourage select groups of those who tend not to vote their way. Now the push is for ICE to monitor elections. No problem there, right? It’s nt like ICE has ever made any mistakes that cost lives, been brutal to anyone, lacks sufficient training or been told there’s no need for them to pay attention to civil rights. Or blew a bullet through a head then expect the driver to obey different instructions being screamed from several sides. OR disarmed a man thrown to the ground then shot him 10 times in the back.
Except all that and more is true.
Sure seems like this is may be what’s coming to places like where black vote next election.
I have argued for a long time that if they do it to us we need to do it to them: Gavin Newsom has it right only we should be far more aggressive. When we do it use that as a way to expose their treachery. “We will only being doing this because…”
Why do we HAVE to be the good guys when it contributes to our demise? Why can’t we publicly state what they are doing, like Newsom did, and do it too. Every time we take on their tactics the nation needs to know why and we will stop if they stop. Don’t stop until they stop. Start again if they start again. One thing Trump did that worked is keep stating he was cheated n matter what. These were lies. We could HONESTLY state so, like Greg Palast did. They purge us we purge them. Since a lot of this is racial in focus: black, focus on whites and areas that tend to vote their way. BE OPEN ABOUT IT, constantly. There should be no confusion. Not letting them command the narrative with their lies like we constantly do.
The right has been laser focused on this for a long time. It’s like Vader and the Death Star. Their desire is to exterminate the other party, or at best turn this into a one party nation with a 2 party facade. Only one party approved by them survives. but mostly has no power. Similar to Russia which has no parties Putin doesn’t approve of.
Trump is like Vader, as are their leaders, and their methods like the Death Star. We don’t want to hit their vulnerabilities.
