A fringe report apparently used by the FBI as the basis for the January 28th seizure of Fulton County, Georgia’s 2020 ballots is not credible, according to new independent expert analysis released April 8th.
A report issued in January 2026 by the fringe “Election Oversight Group” purports to show 26 QUOTE “counts” which cast doubt on the 2020 Fulton County presidential election results. Portions from the report were later shared with the FBI by Kurt Olsen, White House director of election security and integrity to justify the warrant.
The States United Democracy Center convened Justin Grimmer, professor of political science at Stanford University; Stephen Richer, former Maricopa County, Arizona recorder and Cato Institute and Harvard Kennedy School scholar; and Ryan Germany, former general counsel for the Georgia Secretary of State’s office. Their analysis of all 26 counts found the Election Oversight Group’s conclusions to be deeply flawed and showing a lack of understanding of the election administration process.
