So…. remember in the Before Times, when FDA advisory panels were supposed to be made up of independent experts?

Well nowadays, it’s more like, “Who would you like reviewing the various health benefits and risks of Mountain Dew? The CEO of Mountain Dew, the Vice President of Mountain Dew or a guy whose license plate says DEW4LIFE?”

Which brings us to Peptides, those charming short chains of amino acids. Some are the basis of well-established medicines, like insulin and GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic or Wegovy; all peptide-based medications that have gone through extensive clinical testing and FDA review.

But this controversy is over experimental peptides, like BPC-157, TB-500, MOTS-c, and KPV, all of which sound like actual names of droids in Star Wars.
