I’ve heard this before. 15 years ago I had a friend who told me it was hubris to think that God would allow humans to wreck the planet. That’s a slightly different take perhaps than what Rush is saying. Possibly it’s true. The planet will go on even after we have made it unlivable for ourselves and countless other species.

The two lines that caught my eye were: “You cannot believe in the God of Creation and believe manmade global warming. You just can’t.”

This is like saying you cannot believe in God and also believe that thermonuclear war could annihilate humanity. Of course, Rushbo would never say, ‘You cannot believe in God and believe He would allow millions of people to die of starvation every year,’ or ‘You cannot believe in God and believe He would allow innocent children to die in misery of preventable diseases and malnutrition.’ That would blow his whole ‘Christian businessman on the take’ act.

But, you’re right — we haven’t yet devised a way to stop the planet from surviving, even if we destroy all life on it first.
