What does the MAGA right-wing support, what do they believe? Let’s do the catch phrases…
“Blue lives matter.”
“All lives matter.”
“Stand your ground.”
“If you do as the policeman asks, no problem,” this one variation on a common excuse for knees on necks, being shot in the back, even shooting a little kid with a toy gun.
All of those have been flushed down hypocrisy’s ever dirty toilet by their demands that Police Lt. Michael Byrd be charged with murder.
Never you mind on 1/6 they didn’t come in with flowers in their hair and spouting peace. Their behavior before they broke through the capitol police blocking their access proved “all lives” don’t matter to them. How many cops died after this?
Never you mind she was part of a crowd that was chanting “hang Mike Pence.” And there was a very convenient gallows they had built.
Never you mind the Ashli was among the raging crowd, leading the charge to get at Pence and Pelosi …who were just a few feet away.
Never you mind that some in the crowd WERE armed.
Never you mind she was warned several times, told to stop, by a cop with his gun drawn.
Given all these (I have more), in almost any other situation the right would be cheering the shooting, or at least saying it was unfortunate. If anyone has a right to stand their ground certainly a cop does. Certainly Lt. Michael Byrd did. There was a literal mob right behind her trying to bust through to get at those Lt. Michael Byrfor is charged to protect. IT IS HIS JOB.
In fact let’s look at it this way: reverse the roles. Supporters of Al Gore doing the same damn thing in 2000. There certainly was anger, supporters felt cheated of a complete, accurate, count. Would those who cry out murder now have supported an angered mob then?
You know the answer to that would be HELL NO.
So what is the message here? The right wing believes they have special rights? Special to the point no one who disagrees with them has a right to those “rights?” Blue lives only matter when it’s politically convenient?
I’ve read claims this was a mere protest. “Mere” doesn’t apply here, no more than it applied to those who burned buildings and cars during summer protests.
“patriots” beating cops with flags poles and more. This was an attempt at a political lynching, and they damn near got away with it.
They certainly were showing they had no interest in giving Pelosi or Pence a fair trial: not with gallows, pipe bombs, bear spray and trying to break through to get at the fleeing politicians. I think those who insist he be charged are just mad they didn’t get to break through and drag Pence and Pelosi out to murder them.
A special right to commit murder is their demand, murder pols, murder police, murder anyone who stands in their way. You damn well know if the summer protesters had done what was done on 1/6 they’d be crying out for blood.
I laugh when they compare this to summer protesters. Talk about an idiotic talking point. Summer protesters didn’t beat cops with flags, plant pipe bombs, bear spray them. Still, I don’t support the summer violence just like I don’t support the violence on 1/6.
    That is an honest stance.
Honesty: something those who cry to crucify Police Lt. Michael Byrd know NOTHING about, or don’t care. They just want special rights: a right wing politically correct form of “justice,” a special right to beat cops, beat them so bad some died.
We know what Babbitt and those who followed would have done if they had made it past Police Lt. Michael Byrd. They were chanting it, demanding it, and more than likely Police Lt. Michael Byrd would have been added to their beat to death crimes.
Police Lt. Michael Byrd stopped a lynching, stopped mass murder. These Ashli defenders should be praising him for standing his ground, and defending those who Ashli and her insurrectionist mob were eager to murder.
