So Pete Hegseth has decided the U.S. military no longer needs the flu vaccine.

Because “peak warfighting readiness” doesn’t mind turning an aircraft carrier into a floating urgent care clinic. At a time of war, America’s favorite unqualified sex-abusing white supremacist drunk has discovered the true enemy – and the enemy is a healthier immune system.

This is apparently part of Hegseth’s bold new doctrine: “If it ever helped people, it’s probably woke.”

Seventy years of military medicine—gone. Not because it failed. Because child-men have replaced “military readiness” with “doing your own research on a podcast.” We’ve been here before. Previous armies have learned this lesson the hard way.

The U.S. military first mandated the flu vaccine in 1945, at the end of World War II — in part to hedge against the threat of biological warfare; and because the great influenza pandemic of 1918 to 1920 had crippled American troop readiness during World War I, killing more than 26,000 American soldiers. The Spanish Flu was named after the one country that wasn’t involved in that war. It should’ve been called the Kansas Army Base Flu- because that’s where it began, before America spread all over the world.
