You’ve seen and heard this ad nauseam. Well, the nausea on my part might not be the same as yours when people go to vasectomies when the view is pro-choice. My nausea is driven by I feel vasectomies just too limited a response to those who demand the state own the female body and what goes on inside, and their total lack of addressing the source: men.
When it comes to those who want to ban abortion, I can’t be with you on rape, incest (But I repeat myself.), pregnancies threatening the life of the mother, the life of the mother and threatening the fetus. I do want choice. But maybe I can help. Do you want REALLY to stop most abortions? Here’s what we need to do, and it requires no storming of clinics, no throwing bottles filled with fetuses at patients, no worrying about people protecting patients from your outrage.
All your concerns can be addressed. And this solution will be far more effective.
No, not just mandatory, reversible, vasectomies. Just flip every law in every state being passed right to being male focused. Practices like keeping track of periods flipped to sperm counts and sexual activity. For the most serious crimes: auto death penalty. Even THINKING of possibly getting a girl or woman pregnant without consent prosecutable with stiff (sic) penalties. Neighbors, friends, ENEMIES could report on these miscreants and get large rewards.
Presto, change-o! Far less “babies” to be concerned about. People use “babies” because they know it makes it sound like people are slaughtering the born, murdering children. Why not stop it at the source: over sex driven males who can make far more babies than women? One a day, Two a day. More. Less people demanding social services for the born. Less abandonment of responsibility. Less abused children.
I want this NATIONAL, but if it must remain with the states then flip each state’s laws and rules over the male side. Much more effective. Have a bounty for anyone helping another guy “hook up,” even if it’s just an Uber ride or a cabbie. (“Oh where, oh where, have the Lifts gone, all you hear is Uber.”)
To hell with clinics, close the bars, all the hook up places. If we must go Taliban on part of the populace let’s do that where it will have the most effect!
Obviously this tongue in cheek essay is a little sarcastic. But I am serious about the going Taliban part. If we really want to prevent most abortions, save even the little few cells that form but often DON’T become a born being, let’s be the most effective we can be!
Unless… this has NOTHING to do with babies, a fetus and more to do with more Taliban-like control of one sex. More to do with…
”Hold still while I rape you and then you deal with the consequences while I go do it again.”
Hey, Gov. “Abbbbotttt!” Have you eliminated all the rapists yet? Will you EVER? Or was that just politically convenient rhetoric the quality of what comes out of the south end of a bull headed north?
