The nationwide NO KINGS PROTESTS 2.0 was (more so than the first NO KINGS PROTESTS) a huge success with more than 7 million people participating across more than 2,700 demonstrations! From New York City, to California, and everywhere in between — even a town in Michigan informally known as “The Home of the KKK” (Howell, Michigan).

What did we learn? If you look at the No Kings demonstrations at their core: Americans are sick and tired of Trump’s authoritarian moves. As much as he thinks that there are “some people” who want a dictator, he is wrong and Trump himself is simply antithetical to the ideas of what this experiment we call the United States of America was built on; as Susan J. Demas puts it in her article: “No thrones. No crowns. No Kings. Ever.”

That was the message we sent to Trump, his family, the broligarchs, the GOP, all of them: We will not bow down to a king, we will fight for the ideals of the U.S. before we allow ourselves to fall into the system the Founding Fathers fought against.
