    To start with I can’t believe how many Americans bought into the absolute lie that this had anything to do with “illegals.” And even more so eagerly spewing what they knew was a lie on social media. Social media has become a vehicle for modern day Goebbels.
    I had hoped Democratic Party leader had finally found a worthy cause where they wouldn’t fold. Our health care is about to become 2-3X more expensive. The public wasn’t buying the minority was to blame BS. Republicans so desperate to keep the terrible 60 vote rule they were willing to keep the government closed.
    Even Trump knew a way out: kill the filibuster. Problem being as long as we have our system of government: A DAMN GOOD QUESTION AS TO WHETHER WE WILL, killing the filibuster would be a temporary fix and could backfire if Dems ever come back into power.
    Trump so focused on what was good for his goal at the moment, as he always is. Even if in the long run it might hurt. Repubs always playing the long game.
    This is not the first time. The tactic is a game of chicken and enough Democrats eventually always fold. Republicans always using the idiotic 60 vote rule to trap them.
    To paraphrase the sadly passed internet guru for some on the left, “How did I ever get into this chicken shit party?”
    I know.
    I know.
    Republicans promised to hold a vote in exchange.
A. You actually TRUST them?
B. You know the same old BS will follow, right? They will do all they can to rig the vote, use the BS 60 vote rule, stall the vote; like Johnson is so good at.
    SUCKERED ONCE MORE. Our party has way too many Charlie Browns. Republicans make Lucy seem kind. Some Democrat pols seem determined to compete with Charlie Brown’s ability to be fooled. Let’s primary every damn one of these cowardly bastards. I would play poker with these idiots anytime and get damn rich. And I suck at poker. They’re far worse.
    Republicans are really good at holding us hostage.
    Democrats just fold em.
