I finally saw the most complete video of the shooting of Renee Nicole Good after discussing the event on Facebook. I totally get that before this I could not see all around the vehicle. Yet I was suspicious that claims made by Noem, ICE seemed way off base.
4 armed ICE people. One woman. The SUV backed up SLOWLY, with the steering wheel obviously turned to the right. Until she was shot I saw no fast moves made by the driver driving the car. There were two officers visible on the driver’s side, one near the driver’s door who had tried to open it, one behind him to his right a little. One on the passenger side. The fourth one came up from behind the first 2 right at the tail end before the shots. You can’t see where the one on the passenger’s side is, but the way she was backing up that member of ICE had to be about at the rear passenger door. Not one seemed in any immediate danger. The 4th appeared just before the shots and was even further away Looks like he may have slipped a little on the icy streets.
I saw NO ONE in front of the vehicle until I saw another video. Stay tuned.
Probably a Honda SUV. Let it be known that these type of vehicles tend to have blind spots and the agent on the passenger side may not have been that visual to the driver, especially considering the main confrontation was on the driver’s side. Even if the officer on the passenger side was talking she may not have heard him. The closest officer tries to open the driver’s door.
There’s no sound on any video I have watched. We really need good sound: able to hear all involved. We don’t have that.
After backing up she slowly attempts to navigate around the vehicle to her right and the agents. At that point, still slowly pulling away she was shot, according to reports shot rapidly three times. The end result is obvious: her body jerked from the bullets impact, her foot slammed down on the pedal, and she eventually slams into another vehicle. Probably already dead, or so severely injured she had no control.
It must be noted that previous to this the shooter had been dragged several feet by a vehicle. Perhaps he thought this was what was about to happen again. (From the videos I don’t see how.) One journalist noted Ms. Good had a child, a dog and several stuffed animals in the car. Another reported the child had just dropped off the child.
You always get conflicting reports.
Some domestic terrorist mother would bring her kid, her dog and stuffed animals into such a situation, or even after dropping the child off? Seems highly likely she PANICKED and maybe the shooter did too due to the previous dragging event. We have no idea what was said except claims made by agents. Or if different orders were being barked at her from the other agents, both sides.
To further create rage among residents, afterwards ICE agents went to a school going through release time due to the shooting. They tackled several students, looks like they were harassing them, and arrested some teachers. So far this has been ignored by the media and citizens, as of this writing, due to the shooting. But BOTH certainly seem to be over reactions, at best. And I can’t imagine there’s absolutely no connection.
What Noem said has been noted by the press. She and the agents have made their case: poorly, possibly inaccurately, but made it. As of we need to hear from observers and Good’s family. We sure as hell need to hear from both sides in the school incident.
Note: I did not see any arm extended out a window making a motion to go on as one writer claimed. And I wonder if Good was receiving conflicting orders from the several agents. Her window looked open. In the 4th video I watched AN AGENT INTENTIONALLY STEPPED IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER’S SIDE HEADLIGHT. She STILL TRIED TO STEER AROUND HIM. All their movements were casual. The weaponizing the vehicle claim is absurd.
No way in hell was she some “domestic terrorist” trying to kill agents: slowly backing up, slowly steer the vehicle with very predictable moves, then slowly going forward.
As an aside, “domestic terrorism?” Wasn’t it MAGA and the right who previously argued that they have a right to run over protesters if they are in their way?
We need to know a hell of a lot more about the school incidents. At first blush seems the rage factor drove agents to vent it on students and teachers. I await better information. I also would like to know who the hell at the school thought it a good idea to do what they did to release students and teachers midst what was already an obvious mess. I have had to face such bad decisions before by a school administration. They rarely, if ever, end well.
There needs to be multiple investigations and not just of the agents, but of ICE in general, the students (Why?), the teachers (why?), Renee Nicole Good, those around at the time who may have been yelling, distracting, and what started all this. No more jumping to conclusions. Combine what we have then get people in court, in front of Congress. And, damn it all, agents should have body cams WITH SOUND, that can’t be turned off or erased by ICE.
One thing is damn sure. The whole idea that ICE is there to pacify or bring peace isn’t working.
According to one report, Renee Nicole Good went there as a legal observer of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities: she was NOT a protester. (Protesting while sitting in her car???)
My guess is those going after a dead women are already trying to find anything to smear her, or make up something. A sad commentary on today’s discourse. I don’t care if she was a Democrat, or a liberal, or a socialist, or said something nasty about Trump, was pro-choice or had a DUI. I DON’T CARE. Attempts to smear her should be viewed with skepticism. All that matters is what happened from multiple viewpoints on all sides. Both incidents. (Were the teachers undocumented?)
As of now all we know is coming from those too quick to judge who have agendas, like Vance and Noem.
Oh, and we know that Trump’s war on his own citizens is NOT bringing peace, or order… it’s making everything so much worse.
